Venir au Monde (Coming into the World) – Release Party

MEET ON SEPTEMBER 18TH AT LE POINT ÉPHÉMÈRE!

On the occasion of the release of the collective work Venir au monde (“Coming Into the World”), coordinated by Eva-Luna Tholance and Johanna Soraya Benamrouche, join us on Thursday, September 18th from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM at Le Point Éphémère in Paris to discuss and celebrate together!

PROGRAM
7:45 PM: Roundtable on your texts and commitments, and reproductive justice.
Moderated by: Grace Ly, writer, activist, and director.

Speakers:

  • Fatou Dieng, activist with “Vérité et Justice pour Lamine” and the Réseau Entraide et Vérité. In the book, she is interviewed alongside Mélanie Ngoye-Gaham, notably on the strength of their sorority in their collective struggle and the toll it takes on their lives.
  • Amandine Gay, director, producer, author, interviewed in the book; she has addressed reproductive justice for many years through the prisms of her identities, her health, and her reproductive life.
  • Elena Chamorro, anti-ableist activist, who wrote about the dignity of risk and the perinatal experience as a disabled woman in this work. You can find her blog on Mediapart.
  • Adija Benamrouche, a badass with a thousand lives who is also my mom, who participated in an interview about her desire to have children as a lesbian woman from a post-colonial immigrant background.
  • Eva-Luna and Johanna Soraya Benamrouche
