Documentary filmmaking as a marathon: Drawing from her work as a documentary filmmaker striving to promote the reappropriation of narrative by minoritized and marginalized people, Amandine Gay will present the keys that, in her view, allow one to create freely, to innovate (particularly through the exploration of diverse documentary forms), to publicize one’s work by building connections, and to establish a sustainable career.
Amandine Gay is a director-producer (*Ouvrir La Voix* – 2017; *Une Histoire à Soi* – 2021) and author (*Une Poupée en Chocolat* – 2021). In 2025, she released *Ballroom*, her first documentary series, for France Télévisions, and her second autobiographical essay *Vivre, libre* (To Live, Free), published by La Découverte. The series is currently available on France Télévision.
